Summer 2017 Makeup Favs

Ok so... Idk about you but I'm a bit of a psycho when it comes to choosing makeup. How will my skin react? How long will it last? How will it look on camera? What do other people think about it? Am I just a slave to the makeup industry forever cast in a search for the "best"? AH!

I tend to spend a lot of time reading reviews, watching YouTubers give their insight, and testing out different options before I make a final choice. I don't always get it right, but I feel like I've FINALLY found the right combo for me :)

Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express in Brownish Black

If I had to guestimate how many tubes of this I have gone through in my lifetime, it's probably anywhere between 100 and 732848322149018208. Basically, I always find myself coming back to this little purple tube. I love how the applicator is curved, and that I can use to use each sides for different lash effects. One to curl my lashes, and the other to add volume. Obviously, I employ both of those.

My favorite thing about this little guy? The shade Brownish Black is perfectttt hun ugh. As a natural blonde with a hybrid of Lithuanian and Irish features (aka pale skin, light eyes, light brows, light hair) black mascara or liner can look hella harsh on me. But not lil purple!

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+

Confession: I try to get a Sephora worker to apply this to my face whenever possible.

Foundation is tricky. That's not just me right? Somehow we have to find one that conceals our imperfections while not creating new ones (please STAY AWAY ZITS). Until a few months ago, I had some serious acne on my cheeks and chin and was desperate to hide those icky bumps. Now, I'm not saying this CC cream cleared my acne, but my acne has disappeared since using it, so I'm not saying it didn't (really I attribute this to a few skincare / lifestyle changes I made and will give you the rundown of in an upcoming post).

Glossier Cloud Paint & Haloscope

I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't so sure about this Glossier business. From their aesthetically dreamy social media posts to all the rave reviews I've seen claiming "my skin but better," I was skeptical. It all seemed too good to be true. But, I recently visited their NYC store and: IT'S TRUE (don't worry, I've got a post coming on that soon)!

Obviously these are two products, but I felt like they should be grouped together because they're both Glossier, and both for cheeks. Here's the deal: I haven't been this excited to schemer pink cream and glittery, bronze stuff on my face since ever. Before finding these two gems, I primarily used powder cheek products. But you heard it here first NO MORE! These cream products are the real deal to achieve the perfect glow.

Anastacia Brow Pomade

I've strayed from this stuff before and i just keep crawling on back to it. It's 2017 and brows are i m p o r t a n t! It can be tough to find the perfect median between thick and fleeky. I find myself going through brow pencils wayyy too quickly, and every other brow gel I've tried winds up smeared all over my face #notcute. Anastacia knows what a girl needs.

Side note: I know most of us are on a budget, but don't cheap out on getting the actual Anastacia brow brush. Seriously. I've tried sneaking around with other brands before and it's like the gel knows what I'm doing. Don't make the mistake. Spend the extra $18(?), you'll use it for years.

Have you tried this stuff? Try it. Thoughts? LMK.
